Today I Say ‘Thank You’ To VTOC

 By Esther Mary Nagamuthu

I was raised in a low-earning income family in Sungklai, Perak. My parents were estate labourers. I have 5 siblings. I lost my father at the age of 19 which was the year I passed my SPM. It was during this time I was told to help support my mother financially by working in a factory. I later came to know about the VTOC and my mother and siblings encouraged me to undertake the Certificate in Computer, Basic Accounting and Secretarial Program.

After completing the certificate program at VTOC, I was given the opportunity to continue doing the Diploma in Secretarial Studies at Olympia College and successfully completed the program in 2002.

By God’s grace I continued my studies and here is an account of what I did after 2002:-

2003:    Began Twinning Degree Program at University of Bolton

2009:   Graduated with BA Business Administration

2010:     Enrolled for a Twinning Program for a Masters Degree with University of Queensland, Australia

2012:     Graduated with MBA

I am currently working at SEGI College as their Program Coordinator for their Undergraduate Training Program. I really would like to thank God and all those instrumental from VTOC who made me realize my dreams when I was a youth and motivating me to become a professional even though all the odds were against me.
